10/22/03: Gargantua Soul was announced the winners of the Ernie Boch Emerging Artist Competition at the 2003 Nemo Music Showcase and Conference.
10/05/03: Gargantua Soul was recently awarded 3 Billboard Music Award nominations for all 3 of their submitted songs. The tracks were "Calling My America," "No Oasis," and "Drive."
12/18/02: Gargantua Soul was chosen as the winner of The Hard Rock Cafe's "Rock the Rockies" Battle of the Bands Competition to open for Papa Roach and Midtown on January 25, 2003 in Steamboat, Colorado. After winning two consecutive Battle of the Bands competitions (see below) at The Hard Rock Cafe in New York City, and between 10 other major cities across the country, 136 bands in total, Gargantua Soul was selected from a panel of industry judges including: Jacoby Shaddix (lead singer of Papa Roach), the entire Midtown posse, Norman Schoenfeld (VP Programming Much Music USA), Larry Weintraub (CEO Fanscape), Kevin Weaver (Senior VP Lava Records), Ron Burman (VP A&R Roadrunner Records) and Jade McQueen (A&R Dreamworks) as the winner.
The band's single, No Oasis from their first full-length cd The First, The Last, The Tribe, was voted #1 in the Best Artist category at The Songwriters Network an internet radio program at www.cyberstationusa.com which broadcasts live every Saturday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and boasts over 100,000 fans and growing. "The Best of the Best" songs are compiled semi-annually, based on listeners' votes. This time, in a unique turn of events, No Oasis tied for first place with a surprising write-in candidate another Gargantua Soul song, S.O.S. Both songs can be heard on last summer's debut, full-length cd release The First. The Last. The Tribe.
G-SOUL's song "Drive" was awarded 4th place out of 40,000 entries in the 1st annual JOHN LENNON SONGWRITING CONTEST in the Rock category!
G-SOUL was voted #1 Hard Rock Act in the New Haven Advocate's Music Reader's Poll, two years running.
G-SOUL's song "No Oasis" was voted #1 in the Best Artist category at The Songwriters Network-an internet radio program at www.cyberstationusa.com which boasts over 100,000 fans and growing. Also, G-Soul's song "Drive" was voted #4 by listeners on
Radioboston.com's Top 5!

G-SOUL's single Rat Pack will be featured in an episode of the up-and-coming season of The FX Network's, The Shield.
MTV used G-SOUL's song "Electrified" as theme music for the 3rd episode
of their new wrestling show Tough Enough.
